Guernsey property is commonly held as realty, with share-transfer arrangements also encountered. Document duty and local planning and occupancy rules apply. Valuation evidence and lender appetite are narrower than the England & Wales market, and property criteria should be confirmed with the provider before any client discussion.
Conveyancing is completed before the Royal Court of Guernsey with a Guernsey advocate acting. Powers of attorney and guardianship follow Guernsey law, and estate administration proceeds through the Ecclesiastical Court. Jersey documents and Jersey practice do not apply in Guernsey.
