Verification policy

How Equity Fountain sources, verifies and presents directory information.

Verification framework

Every directory record is built from three source families: the FCA Financial Services Register for firm identity, reference numbers and regulatory status; the Equity Release Council for membership and provider or firm participation; and provider-direct material for product details, documentation, intermediary contacts, availability, rate sheets and criteria.

What a tick means

A tick is displayed only where the underlying field is true and the record carries a verified status. Where a field is unchecked, the directory shows a dash, a pending badge or an unknown indicator. A tick is never inferred from a company description or marketing language.

Verification statuses

Verified · Recently Verified · Review Due · Pending Verification · Unverified · Historical · Inactive. Records marked Pending Verification or Unverified are never presented as confirmed current information.

Jurisdictions

England & Wales, Scotland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man are treated as separate jurisdictions. A UK firm is not assumed to cover every UK jurisdiction, and a Channel Islands firm is not assumed to cover both Jersey and Guernsey.

Data licensing

Equity Fountain does not scrape or republish third-party data without permission. Where automated ingestion is not authorised, the platform stores the source reference and link and relies on administrator verification, authorised CSV or API imports, or information supplied directly by the firm.

Corrections and claims

Firms may claim a listing or report incorrect information. Proposed changes remain pending until an administrator verifies identity and source. Every change is written to an audit log with the old value, the new value, the source and the date.

No recommendation

The directory does not label any firm or product best, recommended, most suitable, safest or preferred. A search result means only that a verified record matches the criteria the user selected.

Directory information is provided for professional research and information purposes. Inclusion in the Equity Fountain directory does not constitute endorsement or recommendation by Equity Fountain. Regulatory status, permissions, product availability and firm information may change. Users should independently verify information using the relevant regulator, provider or professional body before reliance.
